Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Today investment funds represent the most important drivers of the financial market. Their popularity is increasing with the development of products and services they offer. Currently there are thousands of different investment funds, which try to satisfy every type of investment. In this paper I am going to talk about the basic types of funds: open investment funds, which are designed for everyone, in which you can invest whenever you wish (every day, only once, every time you have money to spare…), how much you want to invest (countless funds allow investments from 100,00 kn) and also you can withdraw your share without any time limits. Last year investing in investment funds was a replacement for a classical term deposit savings in a bank, but there are new ways of thinking about the stability of finances in the future. The overall value of all the funds in Croatia in 2016, was well over 18 billion kunas. The analysis of investment funds made in this paper was conducted with all the advantages and disadvantages they offer. The conducted tests, presented knowledge and the opinions of citizens are all shown in this paper. The results show that the level of needed knowledge is still very low and educating our citizens would significantly help in making decisions about investing.
