Social networks are increasingly serving as one of the main sources of information for people. The interactive and viral nature of social networks is especially attractive to younger generations, who sometimes approach the above insufficiently critically. Influencers, as one of the main creators of media content on social networks and trend leaders, pose a potential danger to modern youth in the cognitive development of the world around them. As part of this paper, a study was conducted (n = 285) for which three goals were set: 1. to examine the opinion on the impact of social networks and their limitations for younger audiences, 2. to examine opinions on the impact of influencers on younger audiences and their dimensions of development on the cognitive development of one's own physicality, 3. to examine the opinion on the reform of media education in order to develop a critical opinion of modern youth towards the media content that is placed through social networks.
