Intrahospital or nosocomial infections are all infections that can occur in hospital settings 48 hours after hospitalization or 2 weeks after discharging patient from the hospital. They are caused by multi-resistant pathogens and they most often appear in intensive care units. Nosocomial infections increase morbidity, treatment costs, and prolong hospitalization time. Among them, one of the most significant ones is the one caused by Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile). For the purpose of this thesis, a questionnaire was conducted in the period from 13th to 19th July 2021 via a voluntary and anonymous online approach using Google Forms. The questionnaire consisted of three parts; first part contained five general sociodemographic questions, second part contained ten questions about the attitudes of nurses / technicians about C. difficile, and in third part there was ten questions which focused on the knowledge of nurses / technicians about C. difficile. The aim of the study was to examine the attitudes and knowledge of nurses / technicians about C. difficile A total of 203 participants participated in the research, with the age span from 20 years to 65 years of age. Of the total number of participants, 9% are male and 91% are female. It has been observed that the majority of participants have a university degree, with the highest number of bachelors of nursing (54%). A total of 30% of participants have a secondary education, and they have completed compulsory education for a Master’s degree in nursing. In conclusion, the knowledge and attitudes of nurses / technicians play a major role in the spread of C. difficile, and staff education on nosocomial infections is of utmost importance.
