Abstract | Multipla skelroza (MS) je kronična, upalna autoimuna demijelinizacijska bolest živčanog sustava koja nastaje međuigrom genskih čimbenika i čimbenika okoline. Osnovnu karakteristiku čine brojna demijenilizacijska oštećenja SŽS-a. |
Abstract (english) | Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune demyelinating disease of the nervous system that is caused by the interplay of genetic and environmental factors. The basic characteristic consists of numerous demyelination damages of the SŽS. Because the symptoms vary depending on where the scars are located, it is called the disease of a thousand faces. MS is not a fatal disease, although it often causes impairment in people who are just starting out in their careers. Symptoms vary from person to person and include fatigue, double vision, dizziness, decreased balance and coordination, problems with urinary control, speech abnormalities, and mental problems. In rehabilitation, the most important thing is to motivate the sufferer of this disease as much as possible so that they can have the best possible results and that the exercises that are carried out in the health facility are also carried out at home. For every patient, it is important to perform all kinds of exercises such as strength exercises, coordination exercises, tai chi, stretching exercises, yoga, etc. An important role is played by a physiotherapist who, in this disease, has the role of performing exercises and adequate physical therapy. The most important thing about exercises is that the physiotherapist properly educates the patient about the exercises and the purpose of those exercises, and also educates the family about the disease and therapy. |
