The work deals with the issue of hepatitis C. The introduction offers a short presentation of the theme in order to present and prepare it for further elaboration. It is very important to understand the value of the liver as an organ in human body. In continuation, the liver is treated as the organ through its structure and function when healthy. Further, there is a brief descripton of viral liver diseases which obstruct its function. After that, the paper dwells on the topic of hepatitis C as a liver disease which disturbs its normal function, its types, the course of disease, treatment, diet and prevention. A nurse plays an important role in treatment of hepatitis C patients and it is very important to explain her approach to the patient. The topic is completed with a personal opinion and conclusions I have come to, dealing with a problem. Finally, there is a list of literature, articles and CXS table used in a process of writing. The work is focused on the role of nurses/medical technicians in psychological support, understanding and assistance with education and changing the lifestyle of the patient and preventing complications. It is very important to include the patient and family at the same time, so they can get a quality education on the ways of transmission of the virus, how to protect yourself, diet, treatment, etc.. The nurse/medical technician should know how to recognize complications of disease so they can alarm doctor, and if she establish quality communication and trust with patient, it will help recognize emergency situations.
