Abstract (english) Multiple sclerosis, one of the most common demyelinating neurological diseases, is popularly known as the "disease with a thousand faces". It is a disease whose changes affect the nerves of the brain and spinal cord, and as a result numerous symptoms appear that change the way of life so far. The course and symptoms of the disease differ in each affected individual, and the determination of the onset of the disease and the duration of rehabilitation, as well as the evaluation of the success of the rehabilitation, contribute to improving the functionality of people with multiple sclerosis. There is still no cure for this disease, so the treatment is symptomatic to prevent progression and alleviate the symptoms of the disease. Since everyone's disease manifests itself differently, the approach to a person suffering from multiple sclerosis must be individual. A multidisciplinary team with a doctor, nurse, physiotherapist and other members plays an important role in the treatment of patients. The diagnosis is based on evoked potentials, magnetic resonance and lumbar puncture, and the most important part of the treatment is rehabilitation and physical therapy. The most important goal of rehabilitation is to achieve independence and use the remaining physical capabilities to prevent immobility. The rehabilitation process is aimed both at improving activities and educating patients and families about the prevention of possible complications and the use of medical aids that can improve patients' independence from the help of another person in activities of daily life. Rehabilitation procedures that are carried out for people suffering from multiple sclerosis are movement therapy, stretching exercises, breathing exercises, balance exercises, Frenkel's coordination exercises and pelvic floor muscle exercises. Physiotherapy procedures include transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, biofeedback, hydrotherapy, Seltzer ultrasound, manual massage and hippotherapy.
