Abstract Dekubitus ili vrijed je poznat odavna. Pronađen je na egipatskim mumijama. Danas je
prisutan kod teških, nepokretnih bolesnika i bolesnika bez svijesti. Bolesti dugotrajnoga
ležanja uzrokuju neugodu i bol, smanjuju kvalitetu života, produljuju boravak bolesnika u
bolnici i povećavaju troškove.
Prevencija dekubitusa je relativno skupa, no
mnogo jeftinija od liječenja. Ovim radom su istraživana mišljenja medicinskih sestara i
tehničara o dekubitusu, njegovoj pojavnosti kod neurološkog pacijenta, rizičnim čimbenicima
i prevenciji.
ispitanika, različitih dobnih skupina i radnog iskustva. Anoniman i dobrovoljan anketni
mjestu nalazi antidekubitalni madrac.
unutarnje faktore. Medicinsko osoblje Odjela neurologije svjesno je važnosti okretanja
pacijenta i postojanja plana okretanja pacijenta.
nizmeđu empirijskih i teorijskih vrijednosti. Hipoteze u radu su potvrđene.
Abstract (english) Decubitus or decubital ulcer is known for a long time. It was found on Egyptian mummies.
Today is present in immobile and unconscious patients. Pressure injuries cause discomfort
and pain, decrease quality of life and increase patient lenght of stay and health care costs.
Neurological, sedated or demented patients are unable to reposition themselves and every
temporary or permanent immobility increases the possibility of decubitus. Prevention of
pressure ulcer is relatively expensive, but also much cheaper than its treatment. This thesis
deals with knowledge of nurses about decubitus, its prevalence in neurological patients, risk
factors and prevention. Research was conducted in General hospital Varaždin at Neurological
ward on 60 participants, different age groups and work experience. Questionnaire was used
only for purpose of this thesis, it is anonymous and voluntary. The purpose of this research
paper was to get insight into opinions of the medical staff on Neurological ward about
prevalence, risk factors and prevention of pressure ulcer. The collected results were
satisfactory. However, I still think that treatment of pressure ulcer is expensive, so it is crucial
to pay attention to first signs of decubitus and its prevention. Continuous education is
nessesary. 48 women and 12 men were included in this research, 48 participans with high
school level of education and 12 with college degree. In this thesis I came to the conclusion
that medical staff thinks that decubitus can be prevented. The best preventon measure in their
opinion is repositioning, while anti decubitus matress takes second place. Half of the
participants agrees that neurological disease is a risk factor for the occurence of pressure
ulcer. Most of the participants think that number one risk factors are internal ones. Medical
staff on the Neurological ward is aware of importance is repositioning and making of the
repositioning plan. 92% participants in their everyday work uses decubitus tracinkg lists. In
this research paper I set up hypothesis, wich I confirm or deny, using the Hi - square test.
Also, I compare thougts of the medical staff depending on the level of education that they
have. No matter what the level of education is, almost all the participants agree that the
pressure ulcer is more common in neurological patients. Regarding to education, there is no
significant difference between empirical and theoretical values. In this reshearch paper all the
hypotesis are confirmed.
