Down syndrome is the most common genetic disorder due to the higher part of the chromosome or part of the chromosome in the nucleus of all cell bodies. Today, a social model has been adopted that emphasizes the social attitude towards people with disabilities. What separate a person with Down Syndrome is prejudice, fear and ignorance. Better understanding of Down syndrome is important to provide adequate information and support for people with Down syndrome and their families. The aim of this study was to examine the current attitudes and information about young people with Down's syndrome. The student attitudes of Down syndrome people contain 20 of the claims. The study offered assertions on aspects of interaction, focusing on insecurity in social interaction, dealing with people with disabilities, information on Down syndrome and vulnerability. In the study, 116 North University students participated, of which 96 (82.8%) female respondents and 20 (17.2%) male respondents. After the descriptive treatment of students' attitudes on Down syndrome patients, hypotheses were verified by inferential methods. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that no statistically significant difference in the attitudes of people with Down syndrome was obtained based on sex of the respondent. Both sexes have equally positive attitudes. Depending on the age of the participants, both younger and older participants have equally positive attitudes and there is no statistically significant difference in the attitudes of people with Down syndrome. The only statistically significant difference in the attitudes of people with Down syndrome refers to the education of the respondents. In order to become a society in which every individual has the same rights and opportunities, a model of inclusiveness is developing. It is necessary to know the challenges faced by a family of children with developmental difficulties in order to establish cooperation. It is important that a doctor and a nurse are involved in child care and nursing. In order to improve the quality of life of people with Down syndrome, it is important for the family and friends to be involved in all aspects of life. Research contributes to raising social awareness and encourages the move from a medical model to a social model to make community members more open and understand with people with Down syndrome.
