Recognition and inclusion of cultural heritage in everyday life is not only important and valuable for identifying the identity of a particular region and its inhabitants, but it also offers strong potential for economic growth of the region. Communication via the web site is of special significance for promotion of cultural heritage, which will be the focus of this research. The research shall consider its contribution to the overall communication of cultural heritage in Duga Resa region. How much has been achieved in that field, or, to put it more precisely, has anything been achieved at all? And why not? Important characteristics of new information and communication technologies, in comparison to the old ones, provide an opportunity that certainly should be seized in communicating cultural heritage. Such characteristics include processing large quantities of information, as well as the possibility of correlating cultural heritage regardless of limitations in terms of time and space. Furthermore, in the context of cultural heritage, visual communication is of utmost importance. Photography is a powerful tool that can be used for communication of cultural heritage. Intangible cultural heritage and its presentation through events, presentation of the culture of living and working, along with a specific tourist offer, could become – if supported by a well-designed communication strategy – the main potential for development of the region and significant encouragement for the arrival of tourists inspired by a thirst for culture.
