Theoretical part of this work deals with division of professions within field of design, and at the same time compares technological development with the appearance of certain profesions uner field of design for new media. Work also describes classic web design process, which according to many, is increasingly dying out because of the need for wider access to individual designer tasks and problems. New users expect a richer and more personalized experiences, and to deliver these experiences, designers are expected to know number of disciplines and be familiar with the entire production process. The practical part is based on the design and development of a web platform for the promotion of students work, specifically adapted to the needs of the department of Media Design at the University North. Creating such platform requires interdisciplinarity engaged in theoretical part of the work. Steps in the preparation of the present application clearly depict the differences between the conventional web design process and actions needed to implement modern web platform, whereby a web designer must gover both computer science and design skills.
