Abstract Prema Izvješću Hrvatskog zavoda za javno zdravstvo 2019. godine u Hrvatskoj je zabilježeno 13133 osobe s oštećenjem sluha, a najčešće mjesto oštećenja je pužnica. Oštećenje pužnice, kada je moguće, liječi se uglavnom ugradnjom umjetne pužnice. Nakon ugradnje osoba mora prolaziti slušnu rehabilitaciju, a kao i druge osobe oštećenog sluha često bude stigmatizirana. Medicinske sestre i tehničari ovdje imaju bitnu ulogu jer su u najvećem broju slučajeva najbliži pacijentu. Stoga je cilj ovog rada bio prikupiti i analizirati podatke o percepciji medicinskih sestara i tehničara o ugradnji umjetne pužnice, rehabilitaciji, te pristupu osobama s oštećenjem sluha. U cilju istraživanja provedena je anketa u kojoj je sudjelovalo 562 ispitanika (93,1% žena i 6,9% muškaraca) podijeljenih u četiri dobne kategorije. Najviše ispitanika (35%) bilo je u kategoriji 31-40 godina, a zatim slijedi kategorija 30 godina (29%), kategorija 41-50godina (20%) i 50 godina (16%). Obzirom na razinu stručnog obrazovanja, najveći postotak ispitanika (46,1%) imao je višu stručnu, zatim slijedi srednja stručna sprema (38,4%) i na kraju visoka stručna sprema (15,5%). Na navedenom uzorku Kruskal-Wallisovim H testom ispitani su utjecaji stručne spreme i dobi na opća i specifična znanja o pacijentima s umjetnom pužnicom, te na poznavanje znakovnog jezika i stava o osobama oštećenog sluha. Rezultati pokazuju kako za određena znanja postoji statistički značajna razlika ovisno o stupnju obrazovanja, no nije moguće donijeti zaključak da osobe s višim stupnjem obrazovanja daju točnije odgovore, budući da su na neka pitanja češće točno odgovarali oni sa srednjom stručnom spremom, a na neka oni s višom ili visokom. Isto vrijedi i za dob. Utvrđeno je da mlađe osobe, srednje stručne spreme bolje poznaju znakovni jezik (P ≤ 0.001), ali i da nema razlike utjecaja razine obrazovanja i dobi na stigmatizaciju osoba oštećenog sluha gdje 72,4% ispitanika drži da su takve osobe stigmatizirane. Ovo istraživanje može se smatrati pilot istraživanjem koje je dobra polazna točka za opsežnije istraživanje s preciznije i stručnije postavljenom anketom, budući da postoje jasne indicije o tome kako razina obrazovanja utječe na opća znanja o umjetnoj pužnici i percepciji osoba oštećenog sluha.
Abstract (english) According to the Report of the Croatian Institute of Public Health in 2019, there were 13,133 people with hearing impairments in Croatia. The most common place of impairment is the cochlea. Cochlear damage, when possible, is treated mainly by implanting an artificial cochlea. After implantation, a person must undergo hearing rehabilitation, and like other hearing impaired people, he or she will often be stigmatized. Nurses and technicians play an important role here because in most cases they are closest to the patient. Therefore, the aim of this study was to collect and analyze data on the perception of nurses and technicians on artificial cochlear implantation, rehabilitation, and access for people with hearing impairments. In order to conduct the research, a survey was conducted in which 562 respondents (93.1% women and 6.9% men) were divided into four age categories. Most respondents (35%) were in the category of 31-40 years, followed by the category 30 years (29%), category 41-50 years (20%) and >50 years (16%). Considering the level of vocational education, the largest percentage of respondents (46.1%) had a university degree, followed by secondary education (38.4%) and finally higher education (15.5%). The influence of education and age on general and specific knowledge about patients with artificial cochlea, as well as on the knowledge of sign language and attitudes about hearing impaired people, was examined on the mentioned sample by the Kruskal-Wallis H test. The results show that for certain knowledge there is a statistically significant difference depending on the level of education, but it is not possible to conclude that people with higher education give more accurate answers, as some questions were more often answered correctly by those with secondary education and some by those with higher or higher. The same goes for age. It was found that younger people with secondary education know sign language better (P ≤ 0.001), but also that there is no difference in the impact of education and age on the stigmatization of hearing impaired people where 72.4% of respondents believe that such people are stigmatized. This research can be considered a pilot study which is a good starting point for more extensive research with a more precise and professionally set survey, as there are clear indications of how the level of education affects general knowledge about artificial cochlea and perception of hearing impaired people.
