Aging is a physiologically irreversible process that starts with the birth of a human. During this process people experience various physiological, psychological and sociological changes in their lives. Old age is a period in human lives, where they gradually get weaker and it eventually leads to death. Nutrition in older age plays a major role in the quality of life and health itself. Improper diet can lead to serious complications in life of an elderly person, which can be seen through nutritional assessment of an individual. Nutritional status indicates the level of human nutrition. The assessment itself is conducted by experts, most often by general practitioners of nutrition teams (doctors, nurses, nutritionists and pharmacists). Nutrition in nursing home sin extremely important and certain rules must be followed. A nurse plays an important role in the nourishment of residents in nursing homes. They have to adjust towards every resident, since they all have different needs and abilities. The goal of this paper is to examine nutritional status of the residents in a nursing home. Through their answers to some of the statements, we can grasp their habits and difficulties they are having regarding nutrition. The initial hypotesis of this research was proven in the end. The majority of participants in this research belongs to the group of moderate nutritional risk.
