... More udisanje različitih otrovnih tvari. Postoje dva glavna oblika karcinoma pluća klasificirana prema vrsti stanica. Karcinom pluća ne-malih stanica je najčešći oblik raka, karcinom pluća malih stanica je rjeđi oblik koji se obično širi brže od raka malih stanica pluća. Karcinom pluća može biti unutar ograničenog područja, može zahvaćati obližnja tkiva ili limfne čvorove ili može metastazirati. Karcinom pluća je jedna od najčešćih dijagnoza raka koja ima jako loše prognoze jer kod većine dijagnoza radi se o naprednom stadiju bolesti uglavnom tipa adenokarcinom. Liječenje ovisi o vrsti mutacije, stadiju karcinoma i općem zdravlju pacijenta. Ako se rano postavi dijagnoza i karcinom je ograničen, može se preporučiti operacija za uklanjanje zahvaćenog područja pluća. Ako je operacija neprikladna zbog općeg zdravlja, obično se preporučuje radioterapija za uništavanje stanica raka. Ako se rak previše proširio da bi operacija ili radioterapija bili učinkoviti, obično se koristi kemoterapija. Postoje i novi lijekovi poznati kao ciljane terapije koji ciljaju na određenu promjenu u ili oko stanica karcinoma koje mu pomažu u rastu. Medicinska sestra svojim osnovnim znanjem o procesu bolesti, dijagnozi, prognozi i liječenju te suosjećanjem s pacijentovim emocionalnim potrebama može ublažiti bol ovog iskustva. Medicinska sestra mora upotrijebiti svoje tehničko znanje i razumijevanje kako bi pacijentu pružila znanje potrebno za sudjelovanje u vlastitoj skrbi, kao i emocionalnu snagu za suočavanje s fiziološkom stranom bolesti. Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common form of cancer, small cell lung cancer is a rarer form that usually spreads faster than small cell lung cancer. Lung cancer may be within a limited area, may involve nearby tissues or lymph nodes, or may metastasize. Lung cancer is one of the most common diagnoses of cancer, which has a very poor prognosis because most diagnoses are an advanced stage of the disease, mainly of the adenocarcinoma type. Treatment depends on the type of mutation, the stage of the cancer, and the general health of the patient. If diagnosed early and the cancer is limited, surgery to remove the affected area of the lung may be recommended. If surgery is inappropriate for general health, radiotherapy to destroy cancer cells is usually recommended. If the cancer has spread too far for surgery or radiotherapy to be effective, chemotherapy is usually used. There are also new drugs known as targeted therapies that target a specific change in or around cancer cells that help it grow. Targeted therapy cannot cure lung cancer, but it can slow its spread and can have very good outcomes. Although some progress has been made in recent years in treatment such as targeted drugs, lung cancer remains a major challenge for modern science. Therefore, prevention, which includes smoking cessation and screening of risk groups, is extremely important. Once diagnosed, cancer is classified to decide which is the best treatment. The experience of dealing with lung cancer from diagnosis to treatment and to inevitable death is indescribably difficult for a cancer patient. The nurse can alleviate the pain of this experience with her basic knowledge of the disease process, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, and empathy with the patient’s emotional needs. The nurse must use her technical knowledge and understanding to provide the patient with the knowledge necessary to participate in their own care, as well as the emotional strength to cope with the physiological side of the disease.
