ljudi podržava fizičku i mentalnu kondiciju i odgađa degenerativne procese, pruža nove sadržaje
zadovoljstva i radosti, sprečava umor i donosi svježinu.
svakodnevnih aktivnosti.
Abstract (english) Mechanical disorders within the spine are the cause of pain, so pain occurs as a result of
disruption of normal anatomical structures. Degenerative changes in painful syndromes of the
spine occur most often in the area of the intervertebral disc, which leads to compression of the
spinal cord and nerve structure near the affected area. In addition to the discus, changes also
occur in the surrounding soft structures, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and so on.
Moderate physical activity has a beneficial effect on all organs and organ systems. Recreation
is a great remedy against all the ailments that aging can cause. Physical activity in older people
supports physical and mental condition and delays degenerative processes, provides new
contents of pleasure and joy, prevents fatigue and brings freshness.
According to the research presented in the paper, the subjects who suffered from low back
pain and neck pain and performed classical physical therapy (S1) and the subjects who
performed decompression therapy of the spine were divided into two groups (S2). Compared
results before and after therapies, subjects from S1 who underwent decompression therapy of the
cervical and lumbar spine significantly improved the condition and reduced pain, which
according to public health aspects and goals achieved a better quality of life and easier daily
activities. In subjects from S2 there were no significant changes in patients with neck pain, while
in patients with low back pain decreased only when performing some daily activities and
sleeping, while in most daily activities such as walking, sitting, standing, the pain was still
present.
It is important that patients who suffer from pain after treatment and / or are limited in daily
activities are provided with adequate assistance by family physicians and the environment, and
the environment and relatives in which the patient resides are educated in order to improve and
preserve health as many views as possible and facilitated further life through daily activities.
