Abstract Uvod i cilj: U današnjem svijetu, sve se više pažnje obraća na pojam emocionalne inteligencije u sestrinstvo kao profesiji. Ona zauzima ogromni značaj u samom vodstvu u zdravstvenim ustanovama. Kada se govori o emocionalnoj inteligenciji, zapravo se govori o sposobnostima koje ona uključuje, a to su: razumijevanje, uočavanje, regulacija, izražavanje te upravljanje svojim i tuđim emocijama u radnom okruženju. S obzirom na navedene sposobnosti, emocionalna inteligencija je jedna od najvažnijih komponenti koje dobar i uspješan menadžera mora imati u zdravstvenom sustavu. Cilj ovog istraživačkog rada je bio istražiti u kolikoj mjeri emocionalna inteligencija utječe na samu uspješnost vođenja u zdravstvenim ustanovama.
Metode: Provedena je anketa, kojom se htjelo vidjeti što sve utječe na samu razinu emocionalne inteligencije kod rukovodećih osoba, odnosno menadžera te u kolikoj mjeri emocionalna inteligencija utječe na odabir stila vođenja u zdravstvenim ustanovama te stila upravljanja sukobima u zdravstvenim ustanovama. Kroz različite odjeljke u anketi, pokušale su se obuhvatiti sve navedene komponente koju su značajne za razinu emocionalne inteligencije kod menadžera te dobiti što bolji uvid u postavljeni cilj.
Rezultati: Uvidom u rezultate istraživanja, može se vidjeti da sama razina emocionalne inteligencije bitno utječe na uspješnost radne organizacije. Isto tako, rezultati ukazuju na to da sudionici sa višom razinom EI, češće koriste demokratski stil vođenja te suradnju i kompromis kao stil upravljanja sukobima na radnom mjestu, što im omogućava kvalitetniji i učinkovitiji rad i radni odnos između kolega.
Rasprava/zaključak: U radnom okruženju, menadžer na temelju vlastite emocionalne inteligencije raspoznaje i uočava vlastite, ali i osjećaje drugih ljudi i u pravilu s njima postupa. Iz tog razloga, razina EI se iskazala kao izrazito važna komponenta za uspješnost vođenja zdravstvene ustanove.
Abstract (english) Introduction and objective: In today's world, more and more attention is paid to the concept of emotional intelligence in nursing as a profession. It occupies a huge importance in the very leadership of healthcare institutions. When we talk about emotional intelligence, we are actually talking about the abilities it includes, namely: understanding, noticing, regulating, expressing and managing one's own and other people's emotions in the work environment. Considering the aforementioned abilities, emotional intelligence is one of the most important components that a good and successful manager must have in the healthcare system. The aim of this research work was to investigate to what extent emotional intelligence affects the very success of leadership in healthcare institutions.
Methods: A survey was conducted to see what affects the level of emotional intelligence in managers, and to what extent emotional intelligence affects the choice of leadership style in healthcare institutions and the style of conflict management in healthcare institutions. Through different sections in the survey, an attempt was made to cover all the listed components that are significant for the level of emotional intelligence in managers and to get the best possible insight into the set goal.
Results: By looking at the results of the research, it can be seen that the level of emotional intelligence itself significantly affects the success of the work organization. Likewise, the results indicate that participants with a higher level of EI, more often use a democratic leadership style and cooperation and compromise as a conflict management style in the workplace, which enables them to work better and more effectively and the working relationship between colleagues.
Discussion/conclusion: In the work environment, the manager, on the basis of his own emotional intelligence, recognizes and observes his own and other people's feelings and, as a rule, acts with them. For this reason, the level of EI has proven to be an extremely important component for the success of running a healthcare institution.
