Abstract (english) Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that deals with the study of mental disorders, treatment and rehabilitation of people with psychiatric difficulties. A person's mental health is part of general health and is a very important resource for an individual. An urgent condition is a state of endangered or not endangered physical health that disrupts psychosocial existence and requires that the patient be provided with immediate psychiatric care immediately and without delay. Urgency also means the timely provision of intervention to prevent the transition to a more severe mental state. Psychiatric patients requiring urgent medical intervention is one of the most demanding parts and areas of work in medicine. Emergencies in psychiatry require extensive knowledge and experience from various branches of medicine. Specific to mental disorders is that they are unpredictable, dangerous to the patients themselves, family and environment. Norms and laws must be met in the care of a psychiatric patient.
Nursing is a profession that is closely related to working with people. The nurse is an important part of the team, an active member, in the treatment of psychiatric patients. Team work in treatment is very useful because each member of the team is indispensable and with his knowledge and experience helps in the highest quality and faster care of patients. Along with the nurses, the patient experiences a kind of security because they solve most problems with their knowledge, experience and procedures, as well as constant empathy. Empathy is the intention to understand feelings and emotions, forcing people to help each other. It is important for the nurse to establish a positive attitude towards the patient without fear and prejudice. The nurse must be patient, tolerant and responsible and must respect the Code of Ethics for Nurses. It has a very positive effect on the treatment and the patient develops a sense of self-esteem and self-confidence, which benefits the treatment.
The emergency medical service is a part of medical health care whose main feature is out-of-hospital operation with the aim of providing necessary and urgent medical intervention. In most cases, psychiatric patients seek first intervention and help from the emergency medical service team. With their knowledge, experience and competencies, they take care of a patient who is often aggressive, agitated, uncooperative.Communication skill are one of the important parts that a nurse must master to create trust and a positive attitude in patients.
