Abstract | Poremećaji prehrane u današnjem svijetu postaju ozbiljan zdravstveni problem zbog toga što štetno djeluju na tjelesno i psihološko zdravlje pojedinca. U biološke čimbenike možemo smjestiti dob, spol i tjelesnu masu. Samopoštovanje, zaokupljenost oblikom tijela i tjelesnom masom spada u psihološke čimbenike, a u socijalne spadaju vršnjaci, mediji i obiteljska struktura.
Abstract (english) | In today's world, eating disorders are becoming a serious health problem because they have a harmful effect on the physical and psychological health of an individual. The most common types of disorders are anorexia and bulimia, which are caused by inadequate food intake. For anorexia we can say that a person suffers psychologically due to the feeling that he is overweight and wants to reduce his body weight as much as possible, while with bulimia the person overeats, takes large amounts of food in a very short time. The development of anorexia and bulimia is based on a biopsychosocial model that emphasizes the interaction of biological, psychological and social factors. Among the biological factors, we can place age, gender and body weight. Self-esteem, preoccupation with body shape and body weight are psychological factors, and finally, social factors include peers, media and family structure. With this work, I want to approach and describe the role of each factor separately, how it affects the development of anorexia and bulimia nervosa, and what is the diagnosis and method of treatment. There are psychological causes of illness, such as stress, depression, abuse, arguments and bad relationships with family or friends. People with an eating disorder have low self-confidence, worry excessively about their body appearance.
The aim of this work is to examine how many people actually know the concepts of anorexia and bulimia nervosa, which symptoms lead to these disorders, and which are the causes and complications. The questions offered can be answered in the survey: Is it anorexia? What are the symptoms of anorexia? It's bulimia? Complications of bulimia are? Symptoms of bulimia are? The primary goal of this research is to see how familiar the participants are with the concepts of anorexia and bulimia nervosa and what causes them and why these disorders occur. |
