Abstract (english) Stoma is a surgical opening that is formed on the abdominal wall with the aim of enabling the execution of certain bodily functions after surgery. Depending on the organ from which it is derived, there are 3 types of stoma and it can be ileostoma, colostoma or urostome. Likewise, given the time of existence, it can be temporary or permanent, depending on the reason for the installation. Setting up a stoma is often a shock to patients and represents major changes in the quality of life after surgery. Adapting to a new condition requires support, especially from family, the environment, and medical staff. Nurses/technicians play a key role in the first moment when patients undergo various changes and find themselves in the most vulnerable period of change. It is crucial for people to accept their new situation for overall physical and mental health and to have the support of their close environment. The aim of this study was to examine people with stoma about the quality of their lives depending on sociodemographic data, education, employment status, how long they have set up stoma and the most common problems they encounter around stoma. The survey involved 89 participants and the survey was conducted online, through a survey shared on social media. This paper examined the quality of life with regard to the performance of daily activities, the feeling of anxiety / depression after placing the stoma, the most common problems with stoma faced by people with stoma and whether they have enough support from family and friends. The results showed that people with stoma can still engage in various hobbies and physical activities, and most participants can perform stomas hygiene on their own. Most participants are satisfied with their physical appearance and feel that they have sufficient support from their friends and family and rate their current quality of life with a score of three (good).
