This paper describes bipolar affective disorder. The frequency and epidemiology of the disease are explained, and the etiology of which involves biological, psychological and social theories. The disorder is called a bipolar radius of schedule changes that consist of 4 phases: manic, depressive, mixed, and hypomanic episodes that make up type I and type II bipolar affective disorder. patients, and cyclothymia as a milder form of depressive and hypomanic episodes. The role of the nurse is also described, describing nursing diagnoses in hospitalized psychiatric patients and the problems of the diagnosis itself in disorders. Furthermore, brain activity in patients is described, as well as the occurrence of suicidality and hormonal changes caused by the disorder itself. The paper is rounded off with a chapter on patient stigmatization. In the concluding part, the basic conclusions and guidelines in the further approach to the treatment of bipolar affective disorder in patients with the same are presented.
