Mental disorders in children are a major and growing public health problem because they affect children from the earliest childhood until the end of adolescence. The most well-known affective disorder in children is depression. Depression is the most commonly unrecognized disorder and has a very high percentage of untreated and inadequately treated cases. A holistic approach in health care achieves the interaction of various experts whose goal is the prevention of the disease, its course of treatment and rehabilitation. Depression should be taken seriously, diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. The diagnosis of depression is based on clinical manifestations, history and course of the disease. The best results are achieved in the treatment of depression with a combination of physical therapy, drug therapy and psychotherapy. The goal of treatment is to reactivate children in social functions, improve their daily activities, reduce and eliminate symptoms, and prevent recurrence. The aim of this paper is to point out the problem of depression in children and adolescents and what are the most common interventions used in the fight against the problem of the same name.
