Sažetak | Uravnotežena prehrana važan je dio zdravlja svakog pojedinca, zdrava prehrana jedan je od glavnih čimbenika koji pridonosi prevenciji prekomjerne tjelesne težine ili pretilosti, kao i niza nezaraznih kroničnih bolesti, poput bolesti srca, dijabetesa tipa 2 i raka. Obrasci prehrane trebali bi se sastojati od različitih kombinacija namirnica koje se mogu razlikovati u sastavu makronutrijenata, vitamina i minerala. Međutim, odabir zdrave prehrane nije jednostavan zadatak, jer izbor hrane ljudi, posebno studenata predstavlja više od jednostavne nutritivne vrijednosti hrane. Na studentske prehrambene navike utječu mnogi čimbenici, između ostalog biološki, zdravstveni, emocionalni, društveni, pogodnost, cijena, etički problemi i znanje o prehrani. Za studente početak studija na sveučilištu obično znači početak osamostaljivanja i oblikovanja vlastitog životnog stila studenta. To je vrijeme kada se prethodno stečeni obrasci, vezani uz zadovoljavanje prehrambenih potreba, fiksiraju ili formiraju novi obrasci ponašanja. Promjena mjesta stanovanja (napuštanje obiteljskog doma), nestabilna ekonomska situacija, povećano obrazovno opterećenje, nedostatak vremena i nedovoljna znanja o načelima zdrave prehrane često dovode do toga da se prehrambene navike studenata značajno razlikuju od dobre uravnotežene prehrane. Ovo istraživanje ispitalo je prehrambene navike 405 studenata Sveučilišta Sjever, procijenilo je da li i kako promjena okoline, napuštanje roditeljskog doma te stresne situacije utječu na njihovu prehranu, također utječu li znanje, svijest i stav studenata zdravstvenih usmjerenja na njihove prehrambene navike u usporedbi sa studentima nezdravstvenih usmjerenja. Rezultati su pokazali da zdravstveni studenti, iako su svjesni važnosti dobro uravnotežene prehrane, sami je opušteno prakticiraju, što dovodi do loših prehrambenih navika te se pokazalo da neovisno o usmjerenju, svi studenti imaju slične ili pak iste prehrambene navike. Nadalje, rezultati ankete također upućuju da okolina te akademski stres uvelike utječe na prehranu zato jer 56 (27,5%) zdravstvenih studenata i 69 (34,3%) nezdravstvenih studenata jede više u stresnim situacijama, odnosno tokom ispitnih rokova, 94 (46,1%) studenata zdravstvenog usmjerenja i 73 (36,3%) studenata nezdravstvenog usmjerenja jede manje, dok više od polovine studenata smatra da su im se prehrambene navike promijenile otkad su krenuli na fakultet. Također su studenti primijetili veće promjene u tjelesnoj masi od promjene sredine/načina života zbog fakulteta. Nepravilne prehrambene navike uočene su kod većeg dijela ispitanih studenata, stoga se snažno predlaže promicanje pravilne prehrane među ovom skupinom. |
Sažetak (engleski) | Good nutrition is the key to good mental and physical health. A balanced diet is an important part of the health of every individual. A healthy diet is one of the main factors contributing to the prevention of overweight or obesity, as well as a number of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer. Diet patterns should consist of different combinations of foods that may differ in the composition of macronutrients, vitamins and minerals. However, choosing a healthy diet is not an easy task, because the food choices of people, especially students, represent more than the simple nutritional value of food. College students' eating habits are influenced by many factors, including biological, health, emotional, social, convenience, cost, ethical issues, and nutritional knowledge. For students, the start of university studies usually means the beginning of becoming independent and shaping one's own lifestyle as a student. This is the time when previously acquired patterns, related to meeting nutritional needs, are fixed or new patterns of behavior are formed. Changing the place of residence (leaving the family home), unstable economic situation, increased educational workload, lack of time and insufficient knowledge about the principles of healthy eating often lead to students' eating habits significantly differing from a good balanced diet. This research examined the eating habits of 405 students of the University North, assessed whether and how the change of environment, leaving the parental home and stressful situations affect their diet, also whether the knowledge, awareness and attitude of medical students affect their eating habits compared to non-medical student. The results showed that medical students, although they are aware of the importance of a well-balanced diet, practice it casually, which leads to bad eating habits, and it turned out that regardless of the students course, all students have similar or even the same eating habits. Furthermore, the results of the survey also indicate that the environment and academic stress greatly affect nutrition because 56 (27.5%) medical and 69 (34.3%) non-medical students eat more in stressful situations, i.e. during exam periods, 94 (46,1%) medical and 73 (36.3%) non-medical students eat less, more than half of the students believe that their eating habits have changed since they started college. Also, students noticed greater changes in body mass than environmental/lifestyle changes due to college. Improper eating habits were observed in a large part of the surveyed students, therefore it is strongly suggested to promote proper nutrition among this group. |
