Dovodi do bolova, ukočenosti, smanjene pokretljivosti i funkcionalnih ograničenja. Fizioterapija igra ključnu ulogu upravljanju simptomima i poboljšanju kvalitete života pacijenata s osteoartritisom kuka. |
Sažetak (engleski) | Osteoarthritis of the hip is a degenartive joint disease characterized by progressive wear of articular cartilage, inflammation of the synovial membrane and changes in the subchondral bone. It can be primary, without a clear cause, or secondary, as a result of trauma, congenital deformities, metabolic disorders or other arthritis. The pathophysiological process includes cartilage degradation, subchondral bone proliferation, synovial inflammation, and changes in the surrounding soft tissues. The diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the hip is based on history, clinical evaluation, physical examination and radiological tests such as X-ray, MRI, CT. Typical symptoms include pain in the hip joint area that worsens with activity. It leads to pain, stiffness, reduced mobility and functional limitations. Physiotherapy plays a key role in managing symptoms and improving the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis of the hip. Physiotherapy approach includes physiotherapy assessment, tests and measurements, a combination of different interventions aimed at reducing pain, improving functionality and increasing quality of life. Key components of a physiotherapy plan include educating the patient about the nature of the disease, the importance of regular physical activity, proper nutrition and pain management strategies as well as techniques to preserve joint function. In the physiotherapy approach, the focus is on strengthening the muscles surrounding the hip joint, especially the gluteal, thigh, pelvic and abdominal muscles. In addition to therapeutic exercise, electrotherapeutic procedures that have an analgesic effect are also used, as well as special techniques such as the Emmett technique and acupressure. |
