Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization is based on the scientific principles of developmental kinesiology and the integration of the principles of biomechanics and neurophysiology. It represents a newer approach to rehabilitation based on the neuromotor development of the child up to 1 year of age and the stages through which the child goes from the lying phase to the vertical phase by establishing and adopting the first motor patterns. The treatment includes the application of exercises in the child's developmental positions, stimulating motor patterns in order to obtain the best possible movement by controlling intra-abdominal pressure and minimal energy consumption. It has a very wide range of applications and has a positive effect on many patients with neurological outbursts, but due to its effectiveness, it is now also applied to other broad-spectrum disorders. Proper stabilization of the spine is achieved by proper movements, which activates the extensors and flexors of the cervical spine, deep stabilizers of the trunk and pelvic floor. This reduces the resulting pain, spasticity, improves posture, breathing and movement. Functional tests used in planning therapeutic procedures with the aim of ensuring ideal posture and movement also play a major role in the assessment of spinal stabilization. The application of the treatment begins with the assessment of the locomotor system, emphasizing the assessment of functional central stability and finding key problematic points that cause dysfunction throughout the functional system.
