Growth and development take place according to certain rules, regardless of that, every stage of development does not have to occur at the same time in every child. Such development is normal and not alarming, but if large deviations with significant damage to the central nervous system occur, there is a suspicion of abnormal motor development. Being able to recognize developmental deviations requiers knowing all the stages of a child's development. In some cases, the deviation is visible at birth. In case of a low Apgar score immediately after the birth of the child, it can be concluded that the child will be at neurorisk and have other problems. In those cases the most important thing is rehabilitation, which includes educating parents about the procedures for proper handling of the child (baby handling). This concept consists of eight procedures that the parent conducts daily. Although baby handling is more often performed in children at neurorisk, it is possible and recommendable to apply it in children without developmental difficulties and children with other disorders and impairments. This gives them the opportunity for further proper development.
