Reproductive health is a key component in the treatment and survival of cancer, and it encompasses issues ranging from contraception, fertility, sexual dysfunction to menopause. Regular preventive examinations of the reproductive organs for women mean maintaining and improving the quality and prolonging life. In this cross-sectional study, we presented the results obtained on the basis of an anonymous and voluntary survey conducted by women in the city of Slunj and the city of Zagreb. A total of 248 women participated in the study, 51% of them from the area of the city of Slunj, and 49% from the area of the city of Zagreb, aged 20 to 59 years. Most, 43% of respondents were between 30 and 39 years old. We examined the frequency of preventive gynecological examinations, compared the results between Slunj and Zagreb as one rural and one urban area, and the overall results with those obtained by conducting the same survey in 2004. We did not find a statistically significant difference in the implementation of preventive examinations between these two cities. Better information and availability of preventive examinations (gynecological examination, PAPA test and ultrasound) led to a decrease in the number of women who never underwent any of the preventive examinations compared to the results between 2004 and 2021.
