Redovitom tjelesnom aktivnošću student smanjuje simptome depresije, anksioznosti i općenito razvija bolje raspoloženje i veću motivaciju.
Sažetak (engleski) | Physical activity plays a big role in maintaining a healthy life of students in terms of cardiovascular system health because it strengthens the heart, lowers high blood pressure, reduces the chances of stroke or heart diseases and helps in maintaing weight due to constant calorie consumption. Through physical activity, a student accelerates metabolism, maintains weight and at the same time preserves or increases muscle mass. With regular physical activity, the student reduces the symptoms of depression and anxiety and generally develops a better mood and greater motivation. A healthy diet reduces the risk of chronic diseases, provides the student with more energy for better functioning, easier weight maintenance and better brain function.
The research analyzed the physical activity and nutrition of students, emphasizing the significant role of physical activity and nutrition in the lives of students. It delves into the various determinants and obstacles that influence student choices and behaviors regarding physical activity and food intake, including socioeconomic, environmental, cultural and psychological factors. We analyzed physical activities and nutrition between two faculties: the University of the North and the Faculty of Organization and Informatics. The total sample consisted of 127 students. The data was collected through an online questionnaire, which was posted on several sites and groups, where there were students from the University of the North and the Faculty of Organization and Informatics. The sample was targeted at exactly "half, half" of students, for better comparison. 64 (50.40 %) students of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics and 63 (49.60 %) of the University of the North (SS) participated. The largest number of students were female (65.40 %), aged between 20 and 22 (41.70 %). Most of the students were in their first year of study (34.60 %) and their place of residence was an apartment/house (74.80 %). The results showed that the students of SS and Foi are predominantly of normal body weight compared to the rest of the population. As for activities, such as cycling and walking, students at both faculties cycle for 1-2 hours a day. The results of high-intensity activities are disappointing, because students of both faculties usually do not carry out such activities. FOI students (41.30 %) who have body weight at university, are most often not satisfied with their body weight, while SS students (58.70 %) do not have body weight, but show greater satisfaction with their body weight. FOI students (57.80 %) most often do not have breakfast, while SS students (57.10 %) do. Both faculties mostly ignore fish as a food item. |
