The theme of this paper are start-up entrepreneurs in the Republic of Croatia. The work consists of seven thematic sections including an introduction and conclusion. The paper starts with the theoretical definitions of concepts and the importance of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs and business start-ups in Croatia. It explains the definitions of entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial process, and the advantages and disadvantages of entering into entrepreneurship. It explains the importance of entrepreneurs and the reasons for engaging into entrepreneurial ventures and the most common mistakes along the way. Other theoretical knowledge relates to business start-ups in Croatia. The methods of entering into entrepreneurial activity, legal forms of business activity and the incentives for entrepreneurs in Croatia are listed as well as how to get to the capital and the perspective of the development of new ventures. The idea of researching entrepreneurship in Croatia emerged from the questions of why people in Croatia start their business and the obstacles they encounter. The conducted research determined the extent to which respondents were aware of the concept of start-up entrepreneurship and what their intentions and attitudes are on the issues related to becoming entrepreneurs. The aim of the research is to test the readiness for starting your own business. Data was collected using questionnaires on social networking sites (WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook), e-mail and text messages. The study included 130 people of different age groups, gender, education level and employment status. The research results show that among the respondents there is an interest for starting their own business. Some have already started their own business and they claim the reason was a desire to work independently and create something of their own. A large number of respondents believe that educational institutions in the Republic of Croatia do not sufficiently support the development of entrepreneurship and that entrepreneurs still do not have sufficient support from the state. During the creation of this paper different data sources, manuals, technical books, technical and scientific journals and data collected from my own research were used.
