Abstract

After modest growth in late 2008. of the year followed by a more prolonged downturn in economic activity stop growth, a significant reduction of production and consumption, as well as a fall in GDP. The Croatian economy is still struggling with the recession and all the worst conditions in the labour market. One of the important causes of unemployment and economic crisis, which is manifested by a decrease in the export of goods, physical production, the physical volume of construction works, by reducing traffic in the shops a little, but that ultimately leads to and through the reduction in real GDP. Trends in the labour market as a result of the global economic downturn characterized as a decrease in the activity of the labour force, population decline in employment and rise in unemployment. The state of the labor market in Croatia "unused", partly due to the fact that mirovisnki system encourages people to work early exit from the labour market, and partly because the system of social protection destimulira employment. Most long unemployed and the poor and socially excluded, forcing them on a long term stay in the social security system. Croatia is faced with another problem and that is constantly a slowdown in the growth of the total population that is a consequence oft he relatively low level of natural population growth and adverse trends of migration. In Croatia lives 4.284.889 residents from 2.066.335 men and 2.218.554 woman. In comparison with 2001. year (4.437.460 inhabitants) in Croatia has a population of about 152.571 resident less, respectively, 3.5%. The last 50 years, the average age of the population increased by almost 10 years (from 32.5 in 1961. 41.7 in 2011) that is the result of years of declining fertility and rising life expectancy. In the list of 2011. the number of residents 65 years old and older, for the first time exceeded the number of adolescents aged 0 -14 years. The percentage of persons 65 years old and over, 17.7%, and the proportion of adolescents aged 0 to 14 years by 15.2%.In addition, it was evident the increase in the number of very high age, for example. the proportion of the population of the old 80 years or more, 2011. 3.9%, while in 1953. was 0.8%. "Demographic ageing occurs when the population is older on average 30 years. Croatia is exceeded for 12 years." Causes of natural population loss: war, which increased the death rate, emigration people associated with military cases, increasing unemployment and economic recession.
