In the final paper, the topic of asthma in children is discussed; from etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment, possible complications and prognosis of the disease. Asthma is a chronic but variable disease that often interferes with a child's daily activities and can be life-threatening, therefore the cooperation of the child and family with the medical team (doctor, nurse) is extremely important. By following the doctor's instructions, taking regular therapy and adequate health education, as well as systematic monitoring, it is possible to keep the disease under control and reduce the symptoms to a minimum. The importance of emotional support and the inclusion of children and families in the treatment process was highlighted. Active involvement of children and their families in the treatment process increases self-confidence and strengthens independence in managing symptoms. Emphasis is placed on the role of the nurse in caring for a child with asthma. Also presented is a case from the daily practice of the admissions office. This paper contributes to a better understanding of the role of nursing care in asthma management. Continuous education of healthcare professionals and cooperation in the team ensure comprehensive support and effective control of asthma.
