Abstract | Navike stečene u ranom djetinjstvu oblikuju nas kao osobe.
Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju kako djevojčice (52,2%) i dječaci (47,8%) provode higijenu svakodnevno.
Abstract (english) | Habits acquired in early childhood shape us as individuals. In the process of children¨s development, acquired habits are inicator of a child¨s maturnity. Habits, as such primarily involve adopting hygiene habits, as they help protect our health from various diseases. If a child is not properly taught to practice hygiene habits, it can lead to the deterioration of the child¨s health in many aspects. If a child does not adopt habit like handwashing, face washing, showering/bathing, or trimming fingernails and toenails, negative habits may develop. The primary goal of this research is to highlight the daily hygiene habits of student sin today¨s society, specifically in the 21st century, and how they carry out personal hygiene.
The research aims to invesigate how often 7th and 8th grade students engage in personal hygiene, how important it is to maintain personal hygiene, and to discover their habits, opinions and attitudes. Additionally, it is aims to confirm the differences between male and female student sin the 7th and 8th grades regarding their habits, opinions and attitudes towards hygiene.
The method that was used in the preparation of the diploma thesis is a structured questionnaire consisting of 21 questions, which were filled in by students aged 12-15. In this research participated male and female students (N= 115), and the research was conducted in March 2023. The obtained results indicate that girls (52.2%) and boys (47.8%) perform hygiene daily. The hypothesis regarding gender was confirmed in more than 50% of the answers through their habits, opinions and attitudes, that there are statistically significant differences in the implementation of personal hygiene. The hypothesis in the differences between the 7th and 8th grades was partially accepted because less than 50% of the answers would confirm the hypotheses with statistically significant differences. Based on results, education, preventive measures, projects and activities can contribute to improving personal hygiene practices among students.
The data obtained suggest that both genders of any age need to be better educated to ensure the better and more quality practice of personal hygiene. |
