Tu prije svega spadaju bol, umor, slabost mišića, limfedem, psihološki problemi (npr. tjeskoba, depresija, nesanica), kognitivni poremećaji, ali i promjene u držanju.
Abstract (english) The cause of breast cancer is not defined or known, but there are several factors that have a direct impact on the development of cancer, the most important of which is a positive family history. Women who are genetically predisposed to breast cancer are two to four times more likely to develop cancer, especially women who carry BRCA 1 and BRCA 2.
Breast cancer is usually diagnosed by screening or self-examination. Self-examination may reveal symptoms such as breast sensitivity or palpable mass, requiring diagnostic evaluation. Mammography is considered a standard test for breast cancer. Breast cancer is treated according to protocol. Depending on the pathohistological nature of the tumour, the stage of the malignant process and the general condition of the organism, the most ideal type of treatment is chosen. The treatment of breast cancer involved a multidisciplinary team as the most effective treatment has proven to be a combination of systemic and surgical treatment and radiation. While progress in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer had an impact on survival, the rate of complications after treatment also increased. This includes primarily pain, fatigue, muscle weakness, lymphoedema, psychological problems (e.g. anxiety, depression, insomnia), cognitive disorders, but also changes in posture.
Physiotherapeutic intervention is an important and necessary part of the rehabilitation process. It plays a major role before surgery, in the acute phase of recovery, but also in the late phase of rehabilitation. In addition to exercise therapy, electrotherapy and manual techniques, the physical therapist is obliged to train the patient to implement self-care measures for faster and more optimal recovery.
