The aim of this study was to present the problem of whiplash injury of the cervical spine. Through the explained areas from anatomy, biomechanics, mechanism of injury, clinical picture and symptomatology, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation, an insight into the patient's condition is given, with an emphasis on physical therapy after a whiplash injury. This injury is often the result of traffic accidents. Physiotherapy is a branch of medicine that works to identify the problems of individuals and provides the ability to eliminate problems with the help of rehabilitation. It works to reduce pain and symptoms, improves the mobility of the cervical spine and the activities of everyday life. In a real whiplash injury movements of spine are above its normal range of motion. The condition after the injury is generally good and most patients recover in three months while a smaller number of people need treatment. A physiotherapist participates in the process of rehabilitation of a concussion injury with a program and plan that is individually created according to the needs and possibilities of the patient. A multidisciplinary approach is also important throughout the process. Of the physiotherapeutic processes, the most commonly used are thermotherapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, manual procedures, and kinesitherapy is inevitable. In the process of rehabilitation, it is important that the patient has the support of family and friends so that he does not faint and so that the treatment ends as successfully as possible.
