Chest pain is one of the most common symptoms for which patients seek urgent medical care, and due to the diverse causes that can vary from harmless to life-threatening conditions, it represents a challenge for health workers. The focus is on identifying cardiogenic causes of chest pain, such as acute coronary syndrome, in which the use of an electrocardiogram is key in order to achieve early diagnosis of heart problems, and the way emergency medical services approach interventions. Emergency medical care is based on an algorithm that includes assessment of the severity of the patient's condition, administration of drugs and, if necessary, resuscitation in the field. Chest pain, especially of cardiogenic etiology, requires urgent and precise assessment and quick care in the field. The reduction of mortality and complications in these patients lies in the continuous professional development of emergency medical teams and the introduction of standardized protocols for the care of cardiac conditions. Special attention is paid to the role of nurses, who play a crucial role in the registration and notification unit, as well as in field emergency teams. Their responsibility includes recognizing symptoms, performing emergency medical procedures and continuously monitoring the patient's condition during transport to the hospital. Nurses also play an important role in communication with the reporting center and hospital teams, which enables a faster response and better coordination in emergency situations.
