It is necessary to build two diversion structures within the drainage system of the city of Čakovec on collectors I and II. For this construction, it is necessary to protect the construction pit, to perform lateral protection and lower the underground water in the construction pit. The paper is divided in seven major chapters in which the topic is elaborated in detail. In the second chapter, the protection of the construction pit is described, so as the parameters that affect the choice of the protection type because the right choice of the protection concept is crucial for the efficiency and efficacy of the recovery procedure. The types of the retaining structures are described but a special emphasis is put on the sheet pile because in this case of lateral protection of the construction pit, sheet pile is used. Special emphasis is put on the water in the construction pit, because in the engineering practice the problem isn’t in the ground itself as in the water that is in the ground. Special attention must be paid to the water because it can be the cause of many unconvenient situations affecting further construction. The third chapter is based on diversion structures and their part in the sewerage system. In chapter four, the drainage system of the city of Čakovec is descibed in detail so as the location of the building concerned and the laboratory and field research work. The parameters of the ground needed for the budget are made on the research results. In chapter five, the budget was implemented. Based on the budget, we choose the most convenient way to protect the construction pit. The chapter six describes the review of budget data and their impact on happening in the construction pit itself.
