This thesis addresses the topic of small reinforced concrete bridges on our roads. The first part focuses on the analysis of expansion joints, while the second part presents a conceptual design of a characteristic structure – a small bridge. In the theoretical part, which deals with expansion joints for small displacements (i.e., for small bridges), the requirements for expansion joints are described in detail, along with the types of joints available on the market that are most commonly installed in Croatia. Additionally, a review of the condition of expansion joints on several bridges in Čakovec and the surrounding area was conducted to determine the most common damages and maintenance challenges. In the practical part, a design for a reinforced concrete girder bridge over a small watercourse, with three spans, was created. The span structure is a slab. The effects of permanent and moving loads were analyzed, and reinforcement drawings and a calculation report were prepared. Drawings of the bridge, including equipment details, are attached.
