The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gora is one of the first early Gothic sacral buildings in continental Croatia and was first mentioned in antiquity. It is located on one of the busiest roads leading from Petrinja to the Adriatic sea and has been of great importance throughout history. The church has been renovated several times throughout history and from its original form has passed various styles in architecture such as Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque. At the beginning of the War, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was first set on fire, then mined and destroyed to the ground. In 1997, the first restoration and archeological excavations began. During the excavations, old layers of the Church, pillars, half-pillars and other architectural sculptures were found, which were later important in deciding in which direction the church would be renovated, ie in which architectural style. This thesis describes in detail the course of work on the restoration of the church, the construction techniques used in its construction, its details in which we can see the different architectural styles and the use of its original parts found during archaeological excavations.
