The aim of this thesis is the welding of copper samples using the TIG process without additional filler material. The welding process was automated in order to maintain consistent current levels and welding speed, with the goal of achieving uniform quality along the entire weld length. The first part of this thesis covers the theoretical aspects regarding copper and its alloys. The chemical and physical properties of copper are described, the classification of copper-based alloys is presented, and brass and bronze are listed and explained. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of welding different copper alloys are discussed. This serves as an introduction to the welding process, where the different welding methods are categorized, with a more detailed explanation of the TIG process used in the experimental part of this thesis. The experimental section describes the TIG welding process of Cu-ETP copper alloy. The material and the complete equipment used for welding the prepared samples are explained. After welding, a visual inspection of the welds was performed, and the samples were cut to appropriate dimensions for further testing. The tests included three-point bend testing and macro analysis of the weld cross-sections.
